Participant Comments about School Study Groups
Best staff develoment I've had!
The professional book club is a wonderful tool for educators. This group provides quality time for teachers to discuss new ideas, address classroom concerns, and reassure one another about personal teaching methods and strategies. After each meeting I was energized about the ideas gathered from the other teachers.
I found this book club to be very useful. It was so fun to be able to read about ideas that you can immediately apply to your teaching. I love to be able to talk with a group to reflect, brainstorm and discuss things other teachers are doing.
I enjoy the opportunity to share with others who are interested in a similar topic. Nice to hear what others are doing. Book clubs are valuable to me because I enjoy the ideas and suggestions from others. Often, after I read, I do not discuss it with others and having the opportunity to do so helps put new ideas into the classroom.
I've been all kinds of things: an elementary teacher, a university professor, and a wanna-be writer. Now I focus on being a wife and mom and still try to find the time to record the happenings in our lives and share teaching ideas and tips.
